In 2025, our Sous Chef Pastry received a bronze medal in the New Zealand Pastry Chef of the Year competition, and Te Papa Cafe won Burger Wellington, New Zealand’s most hotly contested culinary competition. Look out for creative weekly and monthly specials alongside regular menu items.

After dining, step outside to explore Bush City – Te Papa’s living exhibition with more than 100 native plant species.

Open 9am–5pm daily except Christmas Day. Kitchen closes at 3pm.
